The coloured wristbands
What the coloured wristbands mean and where to get them!
We care about protecting minors!
With the coloured wristbands, Koelnmesse and the gamescom exhibitors collaborate with the USK (Entertainment Software Self-Regulation Body) to ensure that younger visitors really only see what is meant for their eyes. In order to guarantee that, everyone who wants to test a game at gamescom has to wear a wristband. Stand personnel can then see which visitors are allowed in which areas by the colour of the wristband. Furthermore, the respective authorities of the City of Cologne will carefully check adherence to the youth protection act on location at the trade fair complex. The USK will test every game prior to the trade fair and will determine an appropriate rating depending on the type and content of the game. The USK is happy to provide advice and information before and during the trade fair.

The colours of the age wristbands
The colours of the age wristbands correspond to the usual USK logos:
12 years and over = green
16 years and over = blue
18 years and over =red
Where are the wristbands available?
The wristbands are available all around the trade fair site, in front of the trade fair halls, in the entrance areas, on the trade fair boulevard and at the service and info stands in the halls.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION: The wristbands will only be issued on site upon the presentation of a valid photo ID (e.g. passport, driving licence)! So don't forget: pack your ID and bring it with you to Cologne.
