gamescom 2009 – Indoor Review
There was lots of action to enthuse big and small visitors in the halls of the entertainment area.
gaming zones
Visitors had the opportunity to try out games from all genres in our gaming zones. Not only did they take their places in front of the screens, but they were also able to get physically active, for example on the climbing walls in the action & adventure zone, on the soccer court, or in the skatepipe. And those who simply wanted to see the professionals could watch Tony Hawk perform his amazing stunts.
lifestyle zone
And for anyone who wanted more, there was action of a different kind on the stage of the lifestyle zone, where a wide range of entertainment was presented. Various stars captivated the visitors, who also had the chance to win valuable giveaways in promotions by our partners.
Casemodding Championship
The German Casemodding Championship, which was staged in cooperation with Koelnmesse, was also the scene of some hot competition. Computer housings were customized and modified with prizes going to the most creative cases.
Retro Gaming exhibition
It was also possible to take a look back at the history of the computer world. The exhibition Retro gaming 1972 – 2009 presented the story of the sector’s development. Several hundred historical games systems, controllers, games, contemporary books, instructions, and magazines were on display.
Jobs & Career center
Interesting professional perspectives were also presented at gamescom 2009. Companies presented themselves as potential employers in the “Jobs & Career” center, and showed the professional possibilities in the world of games.
