gamescom 2009 – Outdoor Review
The outdoor area offered room for numerous events and promotions in the areas of entertainment, fun sports, action & chill-out.
Parkour
This means getting from A to B as quickly and efficiently as possible while overcoming all of the obstacles along the way. Professionals demonstrated this contemporary sport by showing their most spectacular jumps on obstacles erected especially for the event. Visitors to the trade fair were not only able to watch, they also had the opportunity to take part in small workshops to learn the basics of what is probably the most trendy sport at the moment from the professionals.
gamescom Beach Club
Here visitors could enjoy the sun and relaxing music or simply take a time out from the general hustle and bustle of the trade fair. The bigFM DJs from Germany's hippest radio station also provided a good vibe.
Outdoor area
In the outdoor area, stunt riders from the German Motorcycle Industry Association (IVM) seemingly defied the laws of physics on their motorcycles and quads. As a special treat, visitors were able to ride motorcycles even without a valid license! Free beginner courses with a professional instructor and a trial track for beginners and advanced riders were provided here.
