At the gamescom campus are waiting interesting shows and discussions at speakers' corner and time travels through the history of gaming. The J ugendforum NRW and many other institutions and companies are offering interesting informations to topics like protection of minors, mediacompetences and games.
Jugendforum NRW – Easy Learning in virtual worlds+
“Jugendforum NRW – Easy learning in virtual worlds” is presented by the Department Children, Youth and Family of Cologne in cooperation with more than 30 base institutions und youth projects of youth welfare services and schools from NRW and Cologne. Within themes of youth media protection, media education and media literacy, the Jugendforum NRW is sponsored by the ministry of family, children, youth, culture and sports in NRW.
Children and adolescents can be part of the join-in and adventure activities which include media and educational offers of information. Parents and educational staff will be given the opportunity to get to know the creative potential of young gamers and to talk to them.

The popular special show “Retro Gaming” is becoming bigger and more diverse than ever before. Over an area of more than 600 square meters, clubs, retro-projects and private collectors present the history of computer games. Dozens of games consoles, home computers, hand-helds and, for the first time, machines from four decades, bring the development of digital pastime to life.

Germany’s computer game industry is still one of the country's strongest growth markets and offers interesting professional prospects to qualified applicants. For this reason, IDG Entertainment Media GmbH and Koelnmesse are organising the "Jobs & Careers" centre at this year's gamescom. Germany’s most successful game companies will look for new employees and several educational institutions will present their current course offerings. From 21-25 August 2013.
German CaseMod Championship +
Teams with two members each will have an overall time budget of 24 hours spread over the first three days in order to build an extraordinary case out of an identical standard case. During the 24 hours the visitors of the gamescom can watch the teams turning a “boring” standard case into something unique. This is quite spectacular as even sparks will be thrown out.
