The Fair

From 2009, Koelnmesse will be the new trade fair venue for the interactive entertainment industry! This was announced by Olaf Wolters, Executive Director of the Federal Association of Interactive Entertainment Software (BIU), and Oliver P. Kuhrt, Executive Vice President of Koelnmesse GmbH, at a press conference in Berlin.

The main reasons behind the move to Cologne are:
 

• Koelnmesse’s conceptual ideas, which encompass and address all possible target groups (developers, the industry, retailers and consumers) both in Germany and throughout Europe
• The modern exhibition grounds covering 284,000 sqm just a stone’s throw from the city centre
• Koelnmesse’s experience in hosting major public events and its internationalism
• The media and events focus of the city of Cologne, with its excellent transport connections, hotel infrastructure and large catchment area
